Shared Solar replaces pricing for a subscribed 50 or 100 kWh per month with a fixed program rate for ten years. Eligible rates include R1A, R1D and R1E. An address in a qualifying disadvantaged community can request the discounted offer; LADWP verifies the mapped location.

Apply: Compare the proposed subscription price against the charges it replaces, then submit the My Account or paper application if suitable. This can hedge future prices, but does not prove an immediate saving for everyone. For context, the official page lists a 2026 standard Shared Solar rate of $0.29624/kWh, a discounted rate of $0.28124/kWh, and a July–September Tier 1 comparison of $0.26408/kWh. Those are time-specific figures, not a complete household bill calculation.
