Los Angeles and Ventura Battery Rebates: Could You Qualify for CPA’s $3,500 Maximum?
A guide for eligible CPA customers, including households in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Check equipment, application timing and additional incentives.
Program information checked October 5, 2026. Confirm current availability with the administrator.

The current rebate
For new reservation or claim applications from September 1, 2026, Sun Storage lists a $2,000 base incentive. Qualifying addresses can add $1,250 for Reliability+; qualifying Medical Baseline or income assistance adds $250. The two $250 categories cannot be combined. The maximum is $3,500, subject to eligibility and limited first-come funding.
Who qualifies for the additional incentives?
The rebate is for CPA residential customers without an existing operating battery system, adding eligible storage paired with solar. Reliability+ uses qualifying cities or ZIP-code areas shown on CPA's official map; check the service address. The $250 income addition requires CARE or FERA enrollment; Medical Baseline enrollment supports the alternative medical addition.
Apply in the right order
CPA allows applications before installation or within three months afterward, requires eligible equipment and a CSLB-licensed installer, and links an application form and equipment list. Confirm your exact project with CPA before relying on the money.
What the maximum means
A homeowner should compare three written figures: installed cost, a confirmed equipment rebate, and any later rewards subject to participation. Do not assume everyone receives the headline maximum. For a fictional $15,000 proposal, even a confirmed $2,000 rebate leaves $13,000 before financing costs or other adjustments.
Before you enroll
Ask how participation changes battery operation, what backup reserve remains available and what happens during an outage. Save the approved reservation and ask when payment occurs. Your installer’s estimate should state whether you pay the full invoice first or receive an approved credit.
Cities and ZIP codes: use the official address check
CPA's official Reliability+ map layer includes Ventura postal areas 93001, 93003 and 93004; Camarillo 93010 and 93012; Moorpark 93021; Ojai 93023; and Simi Valley 93063 and 93065. Los Angeles County examples include Agoura Hills 91301, Calabasas 91302, Malibu 90265 and Topanga 90290. These are map-listed postal-area examples, not confirmation that every household qualifies. Postal names, city boundaries and utility territories can differ. Use the map's full service-address lookup and confirm your CPA account and equipment eligibility.
