San Diego Solar and Battery Assistance: Understand the SGIP Waitlist

The current funding notice

The San Diego SGIP administrator says new submissions are restricted to the Residential Solar and Storage Equity AB 209 budget. All its available funding is reserved, and new applications join a waitlist. Cancelled projects may free funds; a waitlist entry is not an award.

Start with the administrator

Use the official portal below to check current household and utility eligibility, documentation and application steps. Ask for the budget category that applies to your proposed system. Do not rely on an installer saying that a different SGIP category is automatically open.

Before financing

Request a project price that assumes no incentive, then a separate estimate using only assistance the administrator confirms. Decide who is responsible if the project goes ahead while funding remains unconfirmed. Keep all application and funding communications with your agreement.

Questions worth asking

• Does my account qualify through this administrator?
• Is my submission an approved reservation or a waitlist entry?
• What would I owe without assistance?
